In this article, we'll show you how to create a Hotjar Engage account.
Check permissions before starting
We recommend checking your Hotjar account access level before getting started because certain steps in this guide need Account Owner, Admin or Read/Write permissions. To find this, go to the Team list and filter for your email address to see your access level.
If you are a Read Only level Hotjar user, you'll need help from a user with Account Owner, Admin or Read/Write permissions to activate Engage.
1. Log into your Hotjar account
Go to https://insights.hotjar.com/login and log into your Hotjar account.
2. Click on the Engage icon
You'll find the Engage icon in the sidebar on the left.
3. Read and accept the Terms and Conditions
You'll be able to view and accept the terms and conditions to create an Engage account.
If you are a Read Only level Hotjar user, you'll need help from a user with Account Owner, Admin or Read/Write permissions to activate Engage.
Read through the Terms and Conditions, and if you're happy with them, click to proceed.
4. Your Engage account will be created
You'll now be redirected to the Engage site and have an account created for you. Inside this account, you'll find an Organization which mirrors the Hotjar Organization you just came from.
If you already had an account with Engage (previously PingPong), the new Organization/Site mentioned above will be created in your existing account alongside your existing Organization(s)(previously Team(s)).
If your Hotjar account has already been linked to Engage, you'll be added to the Organization that's already been set up.
