While we're working on our native mobile apps, running mobile tests requires using additional tools. We'd like to show you how to use Zoom in conjunction with Engage for remote mobile user tests.
We have covered the topic from a different angle with a guide on how to share iPhone screen by mirroring the iPhone screen through QuickTime -- this method still works perfectly for users with iPhones and Apple computers.
How to set up an Engage session on Zoom (or anywhere else)
When you start your new project (step 1 of 4), you will have the option to select where you want to run the session. This is where you will simply select ‘Use other video platforms’ and insert the relevant URL link.
We'll notify the participants that the session will not be conducted on Engage and provide them with the link to join you directly when the time comes.
To recruit the participants with the right mobile phone, use the 'Mobile device type' demographic field to filter users by mobile type.
Once you have a tester booked, you can click on their name in the project's details to find out their email address. This can be handy if you have anything to discuss with the testers before the call, you can also send our tester guides (Android, iOS).
Add a screener question to confirm if they are willing to install Zoom on their mobile. You can mention this in the description just to be extra safe.
